It was so fun to design this feminine space in Setauket, New York. I'm always thrilled when I get to use the color blush in a space. The mission was to take this bedroom from little girl to young lady. The gray, blush, white and gold color scheme take this space in a more sophisticated direction. The white really makes the space feel fresh. The textured rug, pillow, blanket and twinkle light curtains bring in that cozy vibe. Now this space is ready for school, work and relaxation. The style still needed to flow with the existing home style. This active family with two teen boys that love to surf had to be durable and functional. The final touches to the walls will be some of the clients own ocean and surf photography. Here is a glimpse at the Powder Bath, Mudroom, Pantry and Boys Bathroom. More to come on this lovely home. Who wouldn't love to wake up to the sound of West Hampton beach waves out your window? It's so dreamy. I have had the privilege of designing this beach house in West Hampton over the years room by room. Of course like most homes it's the Master Bedroom that is saved for last. This lovely lake home on Spring Lake in Minnesota is so dreamy. I started this design right at the beginning of Minnesota quarantine. All the furniture stores were shut down. We were not sure how we would be able to shop for sectionals and upholstery items. How do you buy without being able to sit? Luckily stores opened up again via appointment just in time. This home was a blank canvas. It already had all the charm and architecture you want in a home. Bright with black and wood accents. The mission was to give it that cozy coastal lakeside style yet keep it functional and durable for the lake life. Relaxing comfort, durability and coastal style was the goal and I think we achieved just that. More to come as this home progresses!

I can't wait to share some of the fun projects I have been working on. I just had to give you a quick glimpse of this vacation home in Sedona, AZ. This is going to be a VRBO vacation rental. The mission was to create a rustic modern vibe with hints of style that are unique to Sedona. Sedona is known for it's beautiful landscapes. Therefore, bringing the color pallete from the outdoors inside was key. Warm colors and rustic woods are the theme throughout. I think I'm ready to book my trip to Sedona!

I have a confession I'm a first time owner of a fiddle leaf tree. Yes yes I know I specify them all the time in my designs along with the basket for my clients. Sometimes I give clients a real option sometimes a faux option when needed. Yet I finally was gifted one and I could not be more thrilled. I just hope I can keep it alive as it sits near my air vent. I feel like it's a new child I need to keep warm, give it sun and keep it watered. Now I need your help. It needs the ever so important basket. The key piece to make this statement tree have the right outfit to complete the look. Which one do you think? Here it sits looking lonely in the corner until I find the right artwork for this wall. Option 1, 2 or 3 basket?
While your pondering on the basket also tell me about your home project? Email me and we can create a plan to create an online interior design that meets your needs, personal style and budget. I don't have many original paintings in my home, but I have an abundance of their works of art. Now that my girls are home full time it finally got me motivated to create a proper art wall. My three year old wants me to hang up each and every drawing. No exceptions. When she's not looking I rotate some of her masterpieces out. My eight year old gave me a nice reminder a few weeks ago with one of her creations with a sign that says "This Won't Last Forever". Such a good reminder to us all when this feels like a long road already. Then she took it a step further by writing this in several different languages looking up the translations. Another good reminder that the whole world is in this together. Looking at what kids draw is such a great way to peek into their hearts and minds. Here's a little glimpse at our art wall that brings me so much joy. The best part is that is cost very little. I love our new Picasso quote sign "Every Child is an Artist" from the Etsy shop Glad Folk. The cork boards I got were from Target curbside pick-up.

I recently got a ramen recipe from a family member. We tried it out last week and it did not disappoint. I made the broth a few days ahead and kept it in the fridge for two days. The smells throughout the house were amazing. The recipe was from The Kitchn called Restaurant Style Ramen. Another comfort favorite of ours that is pretty quick with simple and easy to find ingredients is a Loaded Chicken Pho from What's Gabby Cooking. It's a better option if your a little short on time, but want a similar comfort dish. What recipes are you making and telling friends and family about? Recipes are such a great safe and loving thing we can share right now. I want to hear your favorites. Xo, Annie The Comfort Ramen |
