Ever since we move into our circa 80's home I have wanted to remove our honey oak cabinets in the Family Room. I have also wanted to take a sledge hammer to that beige fireplace tile and mantel that's the wrong size. We got to do just that as a Summer project and I'm so pleased with the result. By removing the cabinets we were able to add seating and give our Family Room a much needed modern update. I selected a split face marble ledge stone tile for the fireplace. The look was completed with a reclaimed barn wood beam mantel. Thank you Rustic Revival for your help and wonderful selection of reclaimed barn wood. I wanted to keep the look clutter free with white picture ledges, frames and minimal accessories. We were also able to update the TV to a larger movie worthy size. Just by updating this one focal wall I can now breath easier with all the other 1980's honey oak in my house....well for now. Here is the before and after. The "before" photos are from the sale brochure when the home was on the market before we purchased it. Let me know what you think!
Do you need a little help with your fireplace wall? How about just a small area that needs accessories? Let me help you with a custom Decorator in a Box. Xo, Annie
